Funeral Service Licensee and Owner
Sherrill Bumgarner has been a licensed Funeral Director since 1983, following in the footsteps of his late mother, Dorothy Frix "Dot" Bumgarner. He is an active member of both Scotland and Montgomery Counties. Most of all, Sherrill enjoys giving back to his community, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Laurinburg Office Manager and Owner
Melanie Bumgarner is our Laurinburg Office Manager and has been married to Sherrill Bumgarner for 40 years. Together, they have two sons, Tyler who is a Conservation Police Officer in Virginia and Ryan who manages a funeral home and cemetery in a large North Carolina city. She is the daughter of Carolyn Parsons, and a beloved "Grammy" to three granddaughters (Hadley, Addison, and Amelia), one grandson (Garrett) and mother to two "furbabies", Ellie and Dottie.

Pastor Tracy Gross serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, an independent Baptist congregation located in Laurinburg, North Carolina. With 34 years of experience in the ministry.
Alongside his ministry, Pastor Gross has been associated with Bumgarner Family Funeral Service for several years. He currently serves as a Licensed Funeral Director, a Certified Crematory Operator, and a Preneed Salesperson, offering compassionate care and support to families during difficult times.
Pastor Gross is a devoted family man. He and his wife of 30 years, Brandy Gross, have two children, Hailey and Matthew. Matthew is married to Emma, adding to the family's blessings. Pastor Gross is also a proud pet parent to his beloved dog, Alexa Grace.
In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, which provide him with rest and renewal away from his busy professional life.
