William Dupree Lytch, Jr.

William “Bill” Dupree Lytch Jr., 82, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg attended by his wife and family.

Born March 18, 1939 in Laurinburg, North Carolina he was the son of the late William Dupree Lytch Sr. and Shore Blue Lytch.  He attended Laurinburg High School where he played all sports.  Bill attended NC State University where he received his Mechanical Engineering degree. He served as a Captain in the Marines in the Vietnam War.  He also served his community as the President and owner of the Laurinburg Machine Company.  He served on the board of Directors of the Wachovia Bank for 14 years along with being the treasurer and secretary of Laurinburg Fire Department and Scotland County Rescue, being Commander for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Pauline McCall Lytch of Laurinburg, NC; his sons, Kenneth Ray Lytch (Mark Greene) and Keith Lytch (Ruth) of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Margaret “Megan” Lytch and Bryce Lytch.  He is also survived by his brother, James Albert Lytch and his niece, Mary Kay Lytch.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sally Teachy.

Visitation will be at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021. There will be a private service at a later date.
