William Stephan James, 72, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Carolina’s ContinuedCare Hospital in Charlotte.
A memorial service with Military Rites will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Brooks Baines. Due to Covid-19, please practice social distancing when possible.
Born July 23, 1949 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late William P. and Vivian Ingram James. After serving 22 years in the U.S. Navy, and retiring as Command Master Chief, he continued to work and again retired from the Cotton Mill and also St. Andrews University. He loved learning and achieved multiple degrees along with his realtor’s license. He was a golf and car enthusiast, musically gifted, and most definitely a Godly man.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Gibstein, Jennifer James, Natalie Douglas, and Jessica James; siblings, Ken James, Gail Patton, Jeff James, Billy Hogan, and Debbie Laverty; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two grandchildren.
