Obituary

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.  For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”  I Thessalonians 4:13 – 14.

William Henry Fairley was a man known for his interesting personality, provoking lively discussions, and quick wit, passed away at the age of 77, Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.  He left us far too soon and unexpectedly, with a new great-grandchild, he was looking forward to seeing.  Despite spending time in and out of the hospital, he lived life to the fullest and in stride.

Hosting family gathering was an essential part of his life, as he cherished the time spent with loved one and his love for cooking was meticulous well-known among his family and friends.  He was also drafting a book and made various charitable contributions to organizations.  He had an enthusiastic sense of humor and was always ready to tell a joke and make someone laugh.
