Ruby (English) Wilson

Ruby English Wilson, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on April 23, 2023, at Scottish Pines in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 3:00 with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be private.

Born on September 25, 1934, in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Muldrow and Bessie Williams English.

Ruby was hardworking and spent her career working in manufacturing in the textile industry.  

She was a woman of many interests.  She enjoyed working in her yard, where she took great pride in maintaining a beautiful outdoor space. Her love for nature extended to her love for animals, and she was known to provide a loving home to many furry friends throughout her life. Ruby was also a talented artist, with a passion for arts and crafts. She was known throughout her community for sending all types of cards to people, whether it was to celebrate a birthday or to offer condolences in a time of need.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Simms (Jimmy), Gail Wright, James Wilson, Jr. (Donna), and Rev. Gary Wilson (Jeri), all of Laurinburg, NC; sister, Jean Lynn (James) of Laurinburg; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews.

Memorials may be made to Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 1651, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
