Ronald Wayne Haywood, 70, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Mount Baptist Church, officiated by Tony Sedberry. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow at the Haywood Family Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.
Born March 26, 1952 in Montgomery County, he is a son of the late G.T. and Josephine Parsons Haywood. Ronald loved working in the family saw mill. He loved his canine companion, Pete, who was his best friend. Ronald loved playing his banjo and guitar, and listening to Bluegrass music.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Jo Haywood of Foxfire and Tanya Renee Haywood of Mt. Gilead; sons, Ronald Wayne Haywood, Jr. of Asheboro and Michael Aaron Haywood (Lauren) of Tobaccoville; brothers, Tilman Haywood, Stevie Haywood, Bobby Haywood, Garry Haywood (Debbie), David Haywood (Michelle), and Chuck Haywood (Lisa) all of Mt. Gilead; sister, Frances Freeman (Mickey) of Mt. Gilead; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Chris Wallace.
