Richard Matthew Persin, 83, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 7, 2023 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Born December 13, 1939, in Westmoreland County, Pa, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kohalisky Persin. Richard was an accomplished man who held a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburg. Beyond his professional life, Richard was a man of many interests. Richard found a fulfilling career as a computer engineer, where he spent countless hours exploring the intricacies of technology. Richard's love for nature was evident in his gardening endeavors. He was a proud member of the "Master Gardeners" of Montgomery County. His work was recognized at Starworks by the "Master Gardeners" of Montgomery County, who dedicated a plaque to him, a testament to his significant contributions to the field. Gardening was not just a hobby for Richard; it was a form of therapy and a source of joy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose Goings Persin, of the home; son, Richard Alan Persin (Adriana) of Troy; daughters, Laure Bowen of Missouri, and Andrea Brunk (Charlie) of Randleman; and grandchildren, Alan Persin, Matthew Persin, Rebekah Ann Picard, Sara Ann Seabolt, Weston Bowen, Joseph Bowen, and Elizabeth Bowen.
