Obituary
Rebecca "Becky" Stewart, 88, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at her residence. Born on September 20, 1934, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Fannie Ewing Blake.
There will be a graveside service held at Southside Cemetery on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Nick Allen officiating. The family will visit with friends after the service at the cemetery.
She is survived by her stepson, Tony Stewart (Linda), of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Chelsea Renee Stewart and Taylor Wray Stewart, of Troy; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Smith of Badin Lake, and Michelle S. Bivens of Albemarle; niece Wanda Hawkins (David) of Troy; nephew Donald Blake (Sue) of Rockingham; great-nephew Cameron (Lauren) and great-niece Samantha. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bobby "Bob" Wray Stewart, her grandson Todd Stewart, and her sister Irene Blake.
She retired as an office manager at Carolina Power and Light, where she spent over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, shopping, and getting her hair styled.
