Myrtle Staley Haywood, age 91, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Todd Roseman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed on our Facebook page. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, seating will be limited. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born October 14, 1928 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Dell Staley. She was a faithful member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and a former textile employee.
She is survived by two sons, James Haywood (Ann) and Ivey Haywood; one daughter, Phyllis Thompson (JR); seven grandchildren, Jamey Thompson, Angela Latham, Sonya Parsons, Crystal Rushing, Paulette Royal, Mickey Haywood and Jasper Haywood; twelve great-grandchildren, Darrell Latham, Jacob Latham, Austin Cesaro, Tiffany Cesaro, Ali Royal, Belinda Saunders, James Thompson, Cris Rushing, Baeleigh Rushing, Leea McQuinn, Ethan McQuinn, and Alex McQuinn; ten great great-grandchildren; Bryson Saunders, MaKenzie Harris, Jackson Harris, Isabel Harris, Addison Thompson, Kinslee Thompson, Aksel Thompson, Adrianna Cesaro, Serenity Cesaro and Aniya Cesaro; special friend, Ally Dorman; and Ginger, her little dog.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Paul Haywood and son, Leon Haywood.
