Mitzi Hunsucker Hoy

Mitzi Hunsucker Hoy, 61, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Chapel in Troy, officiated by Pastor Brantley Moore. Burial will follow at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service prior to the service.

Born February 1, 1963, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Betty Jo Hardister Hunsucker. Mitzi loved her family and enjoyed going to yard sales.

She is survived by her children, Jonathan Hunsucker (Susan) of Lenoir, Jeremy Hoy (Kelly) of Troy, Kimberly Freeman (Michael) of Troy, and Kristy Hoy of Troy; grandchildren, Briana, Jerrica, Jalinna, Leland, Kandice, Holly, Geneva, Jonathan, Sabrina, Jimmy, Tiffany, and Christina; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Oaklyn; and longtime companion, Howard Gray. She is preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Hunsucker.
