Marjorie Edith Lucas Royal, 92, of Troy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her home.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder John Wingfield officiating. Burial will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Born May 14, 1927 at Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late George H and Rachel Shuping Lucas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Braswell, Debbie Honeycutt (Tom), and Cindy Hancox (Tony) of Troy; sons, John Royal (Ann) of Troy and David Royal (Susan) of Fuquay Varina; brothers, Hal Lucas and Buddy Lucas of Star; sister, Helen Burns of Asheboro; grandchildren, Frankie Royal, Julie Andrews, Chris Royal, Tammy Jarrell, Jamie Brown, Donna Greene, Joey Russell, Jennifer Stutts and Jessica Stutts; five step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; and one step-great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John H Royal, an infant daughter, Shirley Royal, grandson, Ryan Royal, sisters, Kate Bell, Naomi Nichols, Ruth Wood and brothers, Robert Lucas and Glenn Lucas.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service, 620 Albemarle Rd, Troy and other times at the home.
