Lula Ann Thomas, 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson. Due to Covid-19, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing when possible.
Born March 31, 1952 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Donald Lewis and Lula McQuage Clear. She retired as a telephone operator with AT&T after 30 years of service and volunteered with the Telephone Pioneers where she was in charge of their reading program for 10 years. She loved true crime, crossword puzzles and riding motorcycles.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard Delano Thomas of the home; children, Angela Dawn Hudson (Dale) of Asheboro and James Stephen Hudson (Heather) of Gibson; sisters, Linda Wilcox (Jerry), Donna Close and Nancy McPeek, all of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Ashleigh Dawn Hudson, Dusten Dale Hudson and James Bryan Locklear; and her beloved dog, Abbagail Rose. She is preceded in death by her sister, Rose Marie Kerner.
