James Anderson, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Morrison Manor.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. JaVan Saxon. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
Born May 5, 1933 in Howwood, Scotland, he was the son of the late James and Roseanne Fleck Anderson. He served in the Royal Air Force and did work as an engineer in the manufacturing business. He was known for his paintings and art projects where he won many awards. He was a parishioner at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Laurinburg for 35 years where he served as a choir member, cantor, elector, and an altar server at daily mass. He was also a member of the Bishop Vincent S. Waters Council 9030 of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Bracey (Jerry) of Bennettsville, SC; his sons, Tom Anderson of Mt. Joy, PA and John Anderson (Patty) of Dover, PA; grandchildren, Michael Bracey, Holly Anderson and Kelly Anderson; and brother, Bob Anderson of Northern Ireland. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Agnes Barr Anderson; children, Donald James Anderson and Patricia Anne Anderson; and siblings, John Anderson, Frank Anderson, and Anna Anderson Gordon.
