Georgia Etta Chance

Georgia Etta Chance, age 83, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at The Greens at Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. Opie Swails.  Burial with military rites will follow at Wright’s Cemetery in Laurel Hill.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Due to COVID-19, masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.

Born, August 10, 1938 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Chance and Beatrice Smith Chance.  She served in the United States Army and worked in the cafeteria for Scotland County Schools for nearly 20 years.   

She is survived by her children, Carla A. Horton of McColl, SC, John Charles Andre, Jr. of Clemmons, Michelle Lynn Andre of Laurel Hill, Jennifer Andre Lett of Bennettsville, SC, Tammy Lee Andre Ivey of Hamlet, and Robert Liston Tyndall of Laurel Hill; one sister, Kathline Wiggins of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husbands, John Charles Andre and Liston Bobby Tyndall; her son, David Eugene Andre; and her siblings, Walter Chance, Eugene Chance, Mary Chance Wallace, Ruby Wilkes, Betsy Hogan and Blondell Chance.
