Foy Worthy McDonald, 95, of Candor passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living Facility.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jamie Biggs. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
Born June 13, 1927, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Aaron Franklin and Mary Cornelius McDonald. Foy retired from Collins & Aikman and was a WWII Army Veteran. He attended Little River United Methodist Church for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hazelene Bowles McDonald of Candor; son, Leon McDonald (Elaine) of Candor; grandson, Michael McDonald (Holly) of Troy; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Duncan and Vander McDonald; and sisters, Cassie Lee Ellis, Ruth Holshouser, and Jessie Slack.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living and Richmond County Hospice for their care and compassion.
