Emma Jean Day Barringer, 87, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Thomas Simpson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Due to COVID-19, masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.
Born August 30, 1934 in Alamosa County, Colorado, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Benjimen and Ethel Reynolds Day. After high school she was Cosmetologist and later in life co-owned Ned’s Pawn Shop with her husband, Ned. She enjoyed reading, painting and spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ned Barringer, of the home; her three children, Debbie Hearn (David) of Greenville, SC, Donald Barringer (Arlene) of Laurinburg, and Susan Greene (Bryan) of Rockingham; two sisters, Kathy Pieracci of Syracuse, UT and Charlene Chick of Phoenix, AZ; ten grandchildren, Matt Hearn (Erica), Curtis Hearn, Amy Copeland (Nate), Leigh Ann White (Jason), Cassie Barringer, Ashley Jacobs (Raylon), Samantha Barringer, Heather Dorenbusch (Stephen), Andrew Greene (Amanda) and Brandon Greene; nine great grandchildren, Caleb, Elijah and Dakota Hearn, Malakai Copeland, Audrey Copeland, Brooks Blackman, RJ and Colby Jacobs, Mason Dorenbusch; and special caregiver, Shannyn Clark. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dick Day.
