Doris Jane Thomas

Doris Jane Thomas 73, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

A private graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Southside Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Gene Thomas.  Due to restrictions provided by the State of North Carolina regarding gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date at Center Baptist Church.

Born August 20, 1946 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late James Aaron and Doris Hunsucker Russell.  Jane worked in the hosiery industry.   

She is survived by her husband of fifty six years, Halford Thomas of the home, two sons, Gene Thomas and his wife, Crystal and David Thomas and his wife, Michelle both of Troy; grandchildren, Tiffany Thomas, Cayla Thomas Hardesty, and Haley Thomas; and great grandchildren; Carley Roberts, Landon Morrison, and Ma’ Kyah Tyson; brothers, Rayvon Russell and his wife, Faye and Larry Russell and his wife, Carolyn both of Troy.  Jane is preceded in death by her brothers, Cleo Russell, Reginald Russell, and Frankie Russell; and sisters, Elgie Garner, Arlene Nooe, and Brenda Blake.
