David Alan Houston, Jr., 32, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel in Troy. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.
Born March 26, 1989 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late David Alan and Deloris Mae Johnson Houston. David mirrored his craft of construction/roofing from his father, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family and really got excited to have family gatherings. He would make sure everyone had a good time with his humor and jokes. David did not allow anyone to use phones or technology while enjoying dinner because it was family time and this time was just that important to him. He enjoyed fishing, and watching all sports associated with his favorite team, the New York Yankees, and the North Carolina Tarheels. David never met a stranger and was a kind-hearted man. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help. David will be truly missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by the love of his life, Felecia Brown of the home; sons, Zachariah Houston and Maximus Houston; daughter, Athena Houston; sisters, Amy Treece Little (James) of Whitsett and Stephanie Houston Salisbury of Lyman, S.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, and friends. He also leaves behind Michael and Renee Davenport, who accepted and loved David as a son. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jason Salisbury.
