Cladie "Wynell" Weld Shaw

Cladie “Wynell” Weld Shaw, 86, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023 in Pinehurst, NC with three of her children by her side.

Wynell was born on April 14th, 1937 in Troy, NC. She was the daughter of and Ernest E. and Grace Weld of Nashville, NC. She was the last surviving founding member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Troy, NC where she taught Sunday school classes, provided special music, and sang in the choir. Wynell and her late husband John donated a portion of family land located behind the church where the current parking lot is now located.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, John William Shaw Sr.; son, John W. Shaw Jr.; and granddaughter, Ashley Renee Coleman.

She is survived by her sisters, Carley Moss of Wilson, NC and Geraldine Ferry of Grafton, MA; children, Neena Melissa Shaw of High Point, Brenda Cheryl Cook of Woodrun, NC, Paula Kristine Shaw of Troy, NC, Maria Shaw Caddell of Troy, Ronald "Ronnie" D. Shaw (Sheila) of Beaufort, NC; grandchildren, Kristina Leigh-Ann Shaw, Allison Whitney Cook, Jessica Danielle Coleman, Meredith Shaw Childs, Jennifer Shaw Booth, Makayla Marie Salter, Naomi Victoria Gomez, LC Isaias Joel Shaw Gomez of USMC, Aleia Chani Shaw, Shanna Dawn Shaw, Tina Apollonia Jaimes and Anastasia Lisa Caddell; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Louis Petrozzi, Abigail Leigh Petrozzi, Kensley Nicole Petrozzi, Roman Marwan Alexander Hanhan, Selena Grace Gonzalez, Ava Marie Belle Mishoe, Savannah Margaret Mishoe, Declan Bradon Childs, Issac Alexander Shaw-Gomez, Elijah Joel Shaw-Gomez , Rod'asia Cashina Little, Rod'amina Cashay Little, Dakota Caddell and Serenity Allred Caddell.

Viewing will be held at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy, NC on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Troy, NC, with Rev. Mark Harper officiating, followed by a Graveside Service at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be sent to the Montgomery County Humane Society, 442 Landfill Rd, Mt Gilead, NC 27306 or Gentiva Hospice Care, 1198 Rockingham Rd, Rockingham, NC 28379, in her memory.
