Charlie was born May 24, 2002 in Stanly County. He is the son of Samuel “Sam” Hunter Hagins and Amy Parsons Ward (Shawn), both of Troy. Charlie was a 2020 graduate of West Montgomery High School and played on the first Timberwolves team at Montgomery Central High School. He also attended Lincoln Tech and was last employed with Carolina Aseptic in the maintenance department. He had a big and giving heart, loved playing football, and had a tight circle of friends. Charlie loved to cook, fish, target practice, and always told everyone he loved them. He loved to sing, but especially liked Hard Rock and Southern Rock music. His family nickname was Barney Fife because he only took one bullet with him when he hunted. Charlie’s family wanted everyone to know that he was saved.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Hunter Stuart Hagins (Alexis) of Advance, NC; step-sister, Alissa Ward of Troy; step-brother, Devin Ward (Krista) of Japan; maternal grandparents, Charlie Clyde Parsons, Jr. and Shirley Parsons of Troy; paternal grandfather, Dan Wesley Hagins of Raeford; and an aunt and uncle. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Hunter Sue.
