Bruce K. Whitcher, 83, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital Troy.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:00 am at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel Troy with Rev. Vanlene Nelson officiating. The service will be live streamed on our Facebook page. Due to the COVID Pandemic, please use social distancing, seating will be limited and face mask or face covering will be required.
Born March 17, 1937 in Grafton County, New Hampshire, he is a son of the late William Harry and Vera Bixby Whitcher. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Troy and a veteran of the US Air Force. Bruce loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, baseball and football. He also enjoyed fixing things, yard work and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Kiker Whitcher of the home; one son, Michael S. Whitcher (Lynda) of Apex; one daughter, Amy W. Smith (Greg) of Charlotte; three grandchildren, David Whitcher (Amanda Jones) of Raleigh, Sarah Whitcher of Raleigh and Laura Whitcher of Apex; one brother, Neil Whitcher (Shirley) of Belmont, NH; and one sister, Cheryl Hoess of Charlottesville, VA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sally Whitcher.
