Zebulon Thomas Gibson

July 25, 1924 — September 13, 2010

Mr. Zebulon Gibson, 86, of 605 Midland Way died Monday, September 13 at Morrison Manor.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Gibson and wife, Deborah of Albemarle and Mike Gibson and wife, Lisa, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Zebulon T. Gibson, III of Albemarle, Jesse D. Gibson and Graham R. Gibson of Raleigh, Michaela S. Gibson, Christopher L. Gibson and Emily N. Gibson of Greenville; two great grandchildren, Ethan D. Gibson and Owen C. Gibson of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Gibson and a brother, Harold Gibson.

Born July 25, 1924, he was a son of the late Zebulon and Grace Covington Gibson. After completion of high school, Zeb attended UNC Chapel Hill and received a degree in accounting. He worked 50 years in textiles which included Springs Mills, Morgan Mills , JP Stevens and Waverly Mills. He was a member of the Ed Guest Sunday School Class and was involved in many organizations through the First United Methodist Church. Zeb will be remembered as a devoted husband to Polly for 50 years, a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 101 W. Church St., Laurinburg, NC 28352, or to the Food Bank, 101 W. Church Street, Laurinburg, NC 28352.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
