Yuriko Miyasaka Rierson, beloved mother to three children in Laurinburg, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
There will be a private family viewing Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium.
Yuriko was born in Suwa-Gen Nagano, Japan on August 2, 1933 to the late Tokuyoshi and Toyo Miyasaka. Yuriko was extremely proud of becoming a naturalized United States citizen in Greensboro, NC on December 8, 1961. She worked her entire life as a military wife to Richard L. Rierson, in part at Hanes Hosiery in Winston Salem, and at Kodak Microfilm Processing in Spring Valley, NY, she also retired from Abbott Laboratories after 25 years of service in Laurinburg, NC.
Yuriko served in many capacities, but also as an enduring inspiration for the value of hard work, frugality, and dedication adds to her family and friends. She loved bowling, fishing, and flowers.
She is survived by her three children; Mary R. Snead (James), Johnny L. Rierson, and David W. Rierson, all of Laurinburg; grandchildren; Maggie, Lee, Tina, James, Anderson, Coy, and Valerie; and great grandchildren; Samuel, Jasmine and Josie.
