Winona (Winnie) Costello Hamer
November 12, 1935 – April 14, 2015
Winnie Hamer passed away on April 14, 2015, at the Woodland Terrace Senior Center in Cary, NC. Winnie was raised in Roanoke, VA. After graduating from Woman's College in 1958, she moved to Charlotte where she lived for over 40 years. She taught kindergarten at Providence Day School for 26 years and was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton.
She is survived by her husband John W. Hamer of Cary, NC, brother M.E. Costello (Lilla) of Atlanta, GA, daughter Laurie Adams (Fred Adams, Jr.) of Morrisville, NC, and son Scott Hamer (Rachael) of Belmont, MA; grandson's Tripp Adams and Walker Adams of Morrisville, NC.
