Mr. Willie Duncan Stubbs, 85, of 7283 Smyrna Church Rd. died Thursday, November 3, at Morrison Manor.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. James Bumgardner. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris Janette Purvis Stubbs; a daughter, Billie A. Karas and husband, Joe of Laurinburg; a son, Larry Dixon and wife, Kathy of Conway; two grandchildren, Tommy Karas and Donna Gerrey of Virginia Beach; five great grandchildren, Melissa Martin of Woodbridge, VA, Meagan Karas, Joey Karas, Katie Gerrey, and Jacob Gerrey of Virginia Beach.
Born October 24, 1920 in Robeson County, he was a son of the late Willie D. and Mary Ella Davis Stubbs. Willie served eight years in the US Marine Corps, retiring as a Platoon Sergeant. He then served in Civil Service in Norfolk, VA as a marine cargo loading specialist.
