Willie Frank Hicks, 82, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Springfield Church of God. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Patsy) Caulder Hicks; his son, Timothy Hicks (Robin) of Jacksonville, AR; his daughters, Patty Locklear of Laurinburg, Brenda Helms (Roosevelt) of Laurinburg, and Ramona Bass (Roechester) of Hamlet; a sister, Mary Outlaw (Jerry) of Laurel Hill; adopted sons, Ricky Odom and Kelly Rouse of Laurel Hill; 9 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Coyt Hicks, Jr.
Born May 3, 1931 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Coyt and Sinah Ransom Hicks. He served in the US Air Force for 9 years and later served many years with J. P. Stevens. He loved reading his Bible, taking notes, and priding himself with his ability to recall passages. He also loved listening to Bill Gaither.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Springfield Church of God.
