Mr. William Arthur "Bill" Wilson, 85, of X-Way Road, died Monday, May 18, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gibson Family Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Tom Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Davis Wilson; a son, Bill Wilson and his wife, Margaret, of Wilmington; a step-son, Clyde Davis and wife, Nancy Sue of Asheville; a step-daughter, Sara Jane Carter and husband, Jeff of Laurinburg; numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his first wife, Casey Gibson Wilson.
Born December 4, 1923 in Will County, IL, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Hazel Coon Wilson. He was a retired general foreman for U.S. Steel , Gary, IN and was an Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II serving at the Laurinburg-Maxton Airbase. Bill was a member of the Freemasons Ivory C. Tolle Lodge #736 and an active member of St. Johns United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Sandhills Emmaus.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
