William J. Vanya, 84, of Carthage passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Peak Resources Pinelake.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.

Born May 6, 1942, in Warren County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late William and Helen Bosze Vanya. William served in the U.S. Navy and was a State Trooper in the state of New Jersey.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Vanya (Donna) of Laurinburg, Jeffrey and William Vanya both of Eaton, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Michael, Emily, and Eric; great-granddaughter, Evie; brother, Thomas Vanya (Helen) of Phillipsburg, NJ; and sister, Betty Kaufman (Ken) of Belvedere, NJ. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, MaryElizabeth Vanya.
