William B. "Rock" Everette

Mr. William B. "Rock" Everette, 81, of 2200 Elm Avenue died Thursday January 19, at Scotland Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillside Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Ralph Brown.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Alstrin and her husband, Chris of Lake Forest, IL and Leigh Ingram and her husband, Andy of Laurinburg; a sister, Joyce Horne of Hope Mills; four grandchildren, Meredith, Amber, Drew and Sara Beth; two great grandchildren, Emma and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty and a sister, Grace Sims of Nashville, TN.
Born March 10, 1926 in Parkton, he was a son of the late Jack C. and Erma Carolina Faulkner Everette. He served with the US Navy from 1942-1946 in the European theatre and retired after 43 years with J.C. Penney Co. as a service merchandise manager. Rock was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Laurinburg and a founding and active member of the "Who Cares" breakfast club that met several mornings a week for food and fellowship.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Morris Morgan Room at Scotia Village.
