Mr. William J. Patton, 81 of Patterson Street, Maxton died Monday May 16, 2005 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robert Dendy. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Maxton.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Patton and wife, Karan of Maxton, three daughters, Willa Jo Griggs and husband, Mike of Bennettsville, Julie Patton of Lumberton and Sherry Woodard and husband, Dave of Newport News, VA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Born December 9, 1923 in Bridgeport, Alabama a son of the late William and Averil Loyd Patton. He was a graduate of Presbyterian Junior College in Maxton and attended Greensboro College, now UNC-Greensboro. William was also an accountant for Waverly Mills and Peoplea
