Mr. William James "Bill" Miller, 82, died Saturday, February 28 in Hilton Head, SC.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Ralph Brown and Roy McCook. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Pierce Miller; a daughter, Melanie M. Pracht and husband, Matt of Laurinburg; a grandson, Mark Pracht of Laurinburg.
Born August 5, 1926 in Butler, PA he was a son of the late William O. and Alice Brewster Miller. He served with the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War II, and later graduated from Slippery Rock College and received his Masters from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a retired teacher from the Pittsburgh Public Schools.
Bill was also a former volunteer fireman with the Munhall #4 Fire Company with over 50 years of service, was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club, and worked with the George I. Green Funeral Home after his retirement.
