William M. Locklear

William Marion “Whitey” Locklear, 66 of Laurinburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home.

A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Earl Henderson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born September 9, 1951 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Monnie Mae Bowen Locklear. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, watching old westerns and riding his motorized bicycle.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Christine Locklear of the home; daughter, Ashley M. Locklear of the home; brothers, Clyde Locklear of Laurel Hill and Elmore Locklear of Wallace, SC; sisters, Wanda Strickland of Laurinburg and Audrey Locklear of Gibson; and grandson, Grayson P. Locklear of the home. He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Locklear and special friend, Melvin Grooms.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
