William Thomas Johnson, II, 24, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Southside Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Travis Pigford and Pastor Carl Burrow.

Born January 2, 1999, in Stanly County, he is the son of William Thomas and Lisa Pigford Johnson of Troy. Thomas loved fishing and riding down country dirt roads. He loved helping people and seeing them smile. He was to start the first of February in EMT training to further his skills in helping people in his community. Thomas was a 2017 graduate of West Montgomery High School and a member of the Wadeville Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his family and nephew.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Brennan Freeman of Troy, Travis Pigford of High Point, Trever Pigford, Jacob Johnson, Jared Johnson, all of Troy; sisters, Hallie Johnson and Kaitlyn Johnson, both of Troy; maternal grandparents, Boyce and Sharon Pigford of Troy; maternal grandmother, Peggy Prevost of Ramseur; niece, Eliza; and nephew, Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Brenda and Jimmy Johnson, and maternal grandfather, Jerry Prevost.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.
