Mr. Walter Dewitt "Nick" Nicholson, 78, of 1711 Stonewall Road died Monday, April 5, at Scotland memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Centre Presbyterian Church officiated by the Dr. Doug Hix. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Rose S. Nicholson; two sons, Chip Nicholson of Macclesfield and Tommy Nicholson of Laurinburg; a step-daughter, Sylvia Coffey of Frankfurt, KY; two sisters, Rebecca N. Wood of Fayetteville and Yvonne Caddell of Wilson; three grandchildren, Sue Ellen McGirt, Ben McGirt and Adam Crisp.

Born February 3, 1926 in Scotland County he was a son of the late Walter D. and Vivian Murray Nicholson. He was a retired quality control manager with Johns-Mansville and was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
