Virginia Campbell (Ginger) Gibson

Virginia Campbell "Ginger" Gibson, 75, of the John's Station community passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Caledonia United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Kelly Barr, Bruce Skipper, and Bob Ray. Burial will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Gibson (Cheryl) and Dale Gibson (Joye) of Laurinburg; and Michael Gibson (Barbie) of Summerville, SC; her grandchildren, Ryan Gibson (Ashley), Reed Gibson (Elisabeth), Brittany Gibson, and Dalton Gibson of Laurinburg; Casey Gibson (Kristl) of Dillon, SC, Ashley Gibson Hintz (Noah) of Ft. Worth, TX, Courtney Dinkelacker (Andrew) of Charlotte, Elizabeth Gibson and Tatum Gibson of Washington, DC; Tanner Gibson of Fayetteville, and Campbell Gibson of Summerville, SC; her great grandchildren, Ty Gibson and Garrett Gibson of Laurinburg, Paisley Gibson and Case Gibson of Dillon, and Caleb Hintz of Ft. Worth, TX; her brother, Malcom Campbell (Jane) of Louisville, KY; her brothers-in-law, Gilbert Gibson (Suzanne) of Ocean Isle Beach and Mac McIntyre of Laurinburg.

Born July 22, 1940 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Martha McLean Campbell and widow of the Late Thomas E. "Tom" Gibson. Ginger was a graduate of UNC-P and received her Master's in sociology from UNC-CH. She initially served with the Scotland County Department of Social Services and after receiving her graduate degree, she became an administrator with Florence County, Chesterfield County, and Marlboro County Department of Social Services in South Carolina.

Ginger was especially fond of her family and enjoyed reading.

Visitation will follow the committal service and will be in the church fellowship hall.
