Virginia “Jenny” Frye Bumgarner, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Randolph Hospice House at the age of 95.

Visitation will be held at Seagrove Christian Church in Seagrove, NC on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Nick Allen. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Born on July 10, 1930 in Randolph County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Gurney & Mary Etta Frye.

Virginia's deepest devotion was to her family. While raising her children, she loved camping and going to the lake. She cherished the time she spent cooking, traveling, and being with them. She particularly loved traveling across the country and exploring new places. Virginia was known as a very inquisitive lady who enjoyed the excitement of WWE and NASCAR, playing Bingo, listening to country music, and had a great love for animals. She was a kind person who loved people and took pride in helping out wherever she was needed, retiring from Luck’s Inc after 24 years of dedicated service.

Virginia is survived by her loving daughters, Sue Burke (Len) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann Hogan (Ricky) of Denton, and Bonny Robbins (Chris) of Denton; and her sons, Lee Bumgarner (Monette) of Manila, Philippines, and Ken Bumgarner of Asheboro. She leaves behind a legacy of 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Charlene Marsh of Siler City.

Virginia “Jenny” Frye Bumgarner is preceded in death by her husband, RJ “Boots” Bumgarner; her son, Donald Ray Bumgarner; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Bumgarner; her grandson, Bryan Bumgarner; her granddaughter, Ashley Bumgarner; and her great-grandson, Greyson Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Grace and Frances; and ten brothers: JT, Leon, Earnest, Elko, James, CA, David, Bobby, Charlie “Buster”, and Jesse.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Terra Bella Senior Living and Randolph Hospice House for their compassionate care.
