Tyra Sue McCall McMillan, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Whit McMillan; son, Whit McMillan, Jr. (Dorian) of Charleston, SC; daughter, Kathryn Benton (Jim) of Kannapolis; brother, Wilson McCall (Carol) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Tanner, Laurel, and Sam Benton.
Born December 5, 1939 in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Eugene W. and Kathryn Campbell McCall. She served as a pediatric nurse for Dr. W. R. Purcell for 15 years, and later served 25 years as a pediatric nurse with the Scotland, Richmond, and Montgomery County Health Departments and finished her career at the Developmental Evaluation Center. She received the Leo Croghan Conference Award for her exemplary work with children.
Tyra Sue enjoyed crafts, knitting, reading, science fiction, and most of all playing with children and her grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
