Lifelong former Maxton, North Carolina resident Tracy Woodrow Watson, Sr., 93, entered into his Eternal Life Friday morning, November 24, 2006 from his home at 110 Soundview Drive, Newport, North Carolina. He passed peacefully from this world after having suffered a stroke just over one year ago and never having made a full recovery.
Mr. Watson was a well-known and highly respected member of the business community in Maxton, owning and operating several local businesses including Monarc Oil Company (also known as the Sunoco service station), previously located at Business Highway 74 and Elm Street. He owned and operated this station for over 50 years.
