It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tony, a man whose larger-than-life personality, unforgettable sense of humor, and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

If you knew Tony, you knew he was the life of the party. He loved making people laugh, cutting up, and turning even the simplest gathering into a memory. His presence could fill an entire room, and there was rarely a dull moment when he was around. He lived life loudly, loved deeply, and was unapologetically himself.

Tony was the proud owner and operator of D-Blok Gym & Fitness, where his love of lifting weights grew into a gym family that meant so much to him. He loved being active and was always ready for a little competition, whether it was football, basketball, softball, or pickleball. His competitive spirit was simply part of who he was, and it carried over into everything from the traditional annual family cornhole tournament to his fantasy football leagues, where winning and making sure everyone knew about it was half the fun.

He loved fishing, whether it was a Thursday night tournament with his sons or a quiet Sunday afternoon with his wife. He cherished the spur-of-the-moment lunch dates with his daughters, never needing a special occasion to spend time with them. He treasured time with his friends and had an especially soft spot for his dogs. They weren't simply pets. They were family, and anyone who knew him knew just how much he loved them.

In recent years, Tony gave his life to Christ, and his growing faith became an important part of the man he was still becoming and the life he was building with his family. Above everything else, Tony loved his family fiercely. He loved his wife with his whole heart, and together they were still building the life they had dreamed of, a life filled with love, faith, family, and so many plans for the years ahead.

Tony created memories that will be told and retold for years to come. The funny stories, the things he said, the way he could make everyone laugh, and all the little things that made him simply Tony will never be forgotten. Life will undoubtedly be quieter without him here.

Although we would give anything for more time, we are grateful for every memory, every laugh, every story, and every moment we were blessed to have with him. Tony's time here was far too short, but a personality and a love as big as his could never simply disappear. The love he gave so freely will live on through his family forever.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Overton of the home; parents, Edgar and Carolyn Goins Overton; children, Corey Overton of Troy, Courtney Overton of Star, Abigail Cloninger of Troy, Dominic Gonzales of Troy, Avery Overton and Ethan Overton, both of Star, and Ava Gonzales of Troy; grandchildren, Dalton, Dallas, and Armani; and brothers, Kevin Overton, Greg Overton, and Jamie Goins all of Biscoe.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Troy, officiated by Pastor Randy Kelley. Burial will follow at Marcus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jackson Springs. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2026 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy.
