Obituary

Thomas Richard Moore, born on March 16, 2017, in Albany County, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Though his time was brief, Thomas touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him with his kindness, enthusiasm, and boundless energy.

A memorial service honoring Thomas Richard Moore’s life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, 305 E. Church St, Laurinburg, NC 28352. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the chapel prior to the service. A private burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park at a later date.

Thomas was the beloved son of Thomas Moore and Desiree Richardson, and a cherished brother to Alexandria Moore. He brought immeasurable joy and warmth to his entire family, including his grandfather Richard Richardson, grandmother Gloria Richardson, uncle Richard Richardson, aunt Alaina Richardson, and others whose lives he deeply impacted, such as his extended family Suzanne, Stephanie, and Amber.

Thomas attended South Johnson Elementary School. Thomas was proud to be a part of Cub Scout Pack 444 of Laurinburg. He was recently promoted to Webelos, demonstrating his sense of responsibility and commitment to the group. He especially loved camping, participating in the Pinewood Derby, and spending time with his scouting peers. These experiences were enriched by sharing them with his sister during trips to various events. Thomas’s passion for scouting was matched by his love of play—he enjoyed time on his tablet and treasured every opportunity to explore the outdoors.

Deeply devoted to his family, Thomas was especially caring towards his mother. His compassionate nature and joyful demeanor left a lasting impression on all those who knew him, both at home, school and cub scouts.

Memorials may be made to Scouting America, Cape Fear Council, Attn: Pack 444, 110 Long Street Dr., Wilmington NC 28412 or through venmo.com EunicePotter CubScouts @cubscoutsPack444.

Thomas’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to celebrate his remarkable spirit and radiant smile.
