Thomas Reese

Thomas Reese, 77, of Laurel Hill, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium prior to the service.

He was born on September 5, 1946, in Scotland County, to the late Melford and Mary Trogdon Reese.

Thomas enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and watching softball on television.  He enjoyed going to the mountains and the beach.  The thing he loved to do the most was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Gerri Lynn Reese-Smith (Christopher) of Albuquerque, NM; Jean Singletary of the home; grandchildren; Emily Grace Locklear of Laurinburg, and Jeremy Logan both of Laurinburg, Kasey Marie Singletary, and Morgan Lynn Singletary both of Laurel Hill; step-sons, David and Kris (Tracey) Singletary of Laurel Hill; brother, Billy “Bo” Charles Reese; sisters, Mary Helen Griffith, Joyce Jividen, and Dinah Snead.   Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly Marie Locklear.
