Thomas Lee "Tom" Allen, age 89, passed away Thursday October 8, 2015.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Aline Smith Allen; his daughters, Donna A. Harden (Mike) of Graham and Amy A. Dameron (Marcus) of Raleigh; his brother, Quinton Allen (Lucille) of Montgomery, AL; his sisters, Mary "Yank" Milligan of Lubbock, TX and Jean Crouch of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Chris Allen (Denise) of Bennettsville, Brett Harden (Ashley) of Fayetteville, Lance Harden of Graham, Marcus Dameron and Addison Dameron of Raleigh; his great grandchildren, Carly Allen, Faith Harden, and Memphis Harden. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Allen.
Born January 23, 1926 in Richmond County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Patterson Allen. Tom served in the European/African/Middle Eastern theater during World War II with the US Army. After the war he served as a Hoover distributor/salesman in Charlotte and later owned and operated Allen's Stop & Shop in McColl. After his retirement Tom worked at Ine's Lodge/Cypress Creek Golf Course. He was also active in the Laurinburg Kiwanis Club and Gideon's International.
Visitation will be from 1:30 pm Sunday until 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
