Theodore Stephen "Ted" Harris

Theodore Stephen “Ted” Harris, 74, of Troy passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Sammy McNeil and Rev. Brantley Moore. At Ted’s request, he asked everyone to dress casual.

Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1947, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Jack J. Harris and Dortha Greene Harris Cave. Ted was known for his love of golf, music, softball, skiing, motocross, go cart racing, and shooting pool. He proudly served his country as a US Marine. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was the recipient of three purple hearts. Ted was a member of Bravo Company, a life member of the Khe Sanh Veterans, life member of the Military Order of Purple Hearts, and a member of the Secret Agents, which was a poplar local band.

He is survived by his sisters, Sonja H. Greer and Lois Harris, both of Troy; very special niece, Loretta Harris of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
