Terry Avery, Sr.

Terry Avery, Sr., passed away on October 18, 2024, at Morrison Manor at the age of 68.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium.  Services will be private.

Born on May 23, 1956, in Harnett County, he was the son of Gladys Jones Avery and the late Lathan Avery, Sr.

He was a chemical mixer in the textile industry. Beyond his work, Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid nature walker, and he had a passion for collecting antiques. However, it was his role as a grandfather that brought Terry his greatest joy.

He is survived by his daughter, Zelma Avery (Brandon) of Maxton, and his son, Terry Avery, Jr. (Mary Lynn) of Maxton; his siblings, Jimmy Avery of Fairmont, Jackie Avery of Midland, Bobby Avery of Concord, Lathan Avery, Jr., of Dillon, SC, and David Avery of Lumberton; and eight grandchildren.

Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the Avery family.
