Tammy King Thompson

Tammy King Thompson, 47, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy, officiated by Dr. Arvind D’Silva.

Born on October 5, 1977, in Randolph County, she is the daughter of Gary Reece King of Star, and Carol Hare of Troy. Tammy's vivacity and love for life made her a beacon of joy to all who knew her. Tammy's interests and hobbies reflected her dynamic personality. She enjoyed boating, relishing the time spent on the lake where she felt most at peace. Traveling was another of Tammy's passions, as well as an impeccable eye for decorating.

Known for being the life of the party, Tammy's presence was a guarantee of good times and lasting memories. Tammy's friendships were far-reaching and deep-rooted, as she nurtured each relationship with care and genuine affection. Tammy's love for her family was the touchstone of her existence. She was their advocate, cheerleader, and friend. Her guidance and wisdom will continue to resonate with them, as will her unconditional love. Tammy's spirit, a blend of strength, compassion, and joy, will remain a guiding light for her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Alex Reece Thompson of Troy; daughter, Samantha Calhoun of Star; brother, Garriet Lee King of Troy, and grandson, Dawson Calhoun of Star.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy.
