Ms. Sue McCants Harris, 89, of 209 West Vance Street died Friday December 20 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday at McDougald Funeral and Crematorium Chapel conducted by the Revs. Elizabeth Forester, Kenneth Blease, and Dr. Phil Barrineau. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughters Margaret E. Evans, of the home, Virginia S. Strzok of Washburn, WI, Julie Strozk-Harris of Laurinburg, NC, and Mary Klausman Garland of High Point, NC; a brother Joe McCants of Scranton, SC; six sisters, Oree Farthing of Rock Hill, SC, Gladys Adams of Jensen Beach, FL, Mary Stoker of Mt. Morris, IL, Ruth Weaver of Scranton SC, Jac Williams of Arlington Heights, IL, and Janice Hicks of Hixson, TN. Six Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Ms. Harris was predeceased by a son A.T. "Buddy" Harris.
Born August 14, 1913 in Scranton SC, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Ferbia McCants; and a wife of the late Fred B. Harris. She was a retired Public Health Nurse in Scotland County and also worked for Dr. James.
Visitation will be from 6-8 , Sunday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
