Stephen Blankenship

Mr. Stephen “Steve” Blankenship, 63, died January 13, 2017 at his home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2017 at White Crest Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ken McRae, Rev. Travis McGuirt, and Rev. Gary Rutherford. Burial will be private.
Born November 12, 1953 in Richmond County, he was a son of the late Thomas H. & Gladys Knight Blankenship. He was a retired correction officer with the NC Department of Corrections and enjoyed working with the Robin Sage Project.
He is survived by: wife of 40 years, Marie Clark Blankenship of the home; son, Benjiman C. McGuirt of Troy; daughter Korie G. Caccia of Kernersville; grandchildren, Travis McGuirt, Trenton McGuirt, Linsey McGuirt, and Hatcher Wilson; brothers, Walter P. Blankenship of Mt. Gilead, and Tommy Blankenship of Troy; and a sister, Betty Lou Parsons of Troy.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, JoAnn Williams and Dottie Meachum.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at White Crest Baptist Church.
