Stella Wozniak Poole

Stella Wozniak Poole, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Southside Cemetery officiated by Father Ricardo F. Sanchez. The family will receive friends at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.

Born May 23, 1934, in Clark County, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie Kusmierz Wozniak. Stella devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker and was employed with Collins & Aikman for thirty years. Stella loved to go out and eat; especially to Cracker Barrel and eat chicken and dumplings. She was reunited with her family and husband after being separated from him for sixty-one years.

She is survived by her daughters, Ruth “Sissy” Freeman (Ricky) of Biscoe and Susan Britt of Troy; grandchildren, Jimmy McFayden, Timmy McFayden (Katie), Becky McFayden-Jarrells (Billy), Drew Britt (Courtney), and Nick Britt; great-grandchildren, Faith McFayden, Grace McFayden, Hope McFayden, Oliver Britt, and Owen Britt; sisters, Rose Marie Sandel and Carol Hawkins; and brother, Joseph Wozniak. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Max Poole; her sisters, Susan Will and Eleanor Wozniak; and her brother, Felix Wozniak.
