Shirley Anne Murdock

Shirley Anne Murdock, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel in Troy.

Born June 29, 1938, in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Alney Woodrow and Nellie Elizabeth Mason Murdock. Shirley was quick-witted and sassy. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and football; especially the Carolina Panthers.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Maness (Brian) of Robbins; son, Ronald Poe of Troy; sister, Kay McCaskill of Asheboro; grandchildren, Nicholas Tucker of the home, Ashley Goins of Biscoe, and Bradley Maness (Madison) of Robbins; twelve great-grandchildren, and five nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Mayo.
