Shirley Galloway McAlister, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Morrison Manor.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hillside Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Wike. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Born March 6, 1927 in Moore County, she was a daughter of the late William S. and Leigh Allen Galloway. She attended Kings Business Collage in Raleigh and served as an assistant librarian for North Laurinburg Elementary School, Scotland High School and also for the Scotland County Memorial Library.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry M. Lovette of Wilmington, NC; son, Steve McAlister of Woodbury, MN; and two grandsons, Justin Alexander McAlister and Jeremy Patrick McAlister, both of Woodbury, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leach McAlister, three brothers, J.D. Galloway, Dwight Galloway and Curtis Galloway, and one sister, Jessie G. Heath.
